The University of Theatre and Film Arts will launch three 12-week masterclasses in February 2025: movement, voice training and a combined movement-voice training masterclass. The training coordinator for the movement masterclass is Vidáné Szent-Ivány Kinga, associate professor and winner of the Gyula Harangozó Prize, while the voice training coordinator is Borbála Keszei, assistant professor and winner of the Liszt Ferenc Prize.
The theme of the voice training masterclass is the regular practice of voice technique exercises in relation to the operetta role, duets, musical ensembles, voice training, text comprehension, and pronunciation practice. By the end of the masterclass, the goal is for all participants of the course to have solid role knowledge, voice training, text comprehension, and pronunciation, duet and musical ensembles, and a complete operetta musical performance.
The aim of the movement masterclass is to develop body awareness and teach the basics of dance technique, and to further develop movement coordination and physical abilities. As a theoretical part of the training, students have the opportunity to transform a dramatic text into a stage text, taking into account the aspects of actor character building with a series of sample analyses and practical tasks built on each other.
The voice training part of the combined movement-voice training masterclass is the same as the above, and the aim of teaching the movement subject is for the participants to learn about the culture, dances, and characteristic stylistic features of Hungarian and Hungarian nationalities and to master the language, structure, and stylish performance of folk dance.
The language of the masterclasses is English, and the University of Theatre and Film Arts issues a micro-certificate (as an official document containing a course description and credit value) to those who successfully complete the training to certify the acquired learning outcomes.
